Osteopathic Medicine

NSPG family medicine physicians, Larissa Gemme, D. O. and Marc Sibella, D. O., are osteopathic medicine physicians who are specially trained in osteopathic manipulative treatment or OTM.

Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment

Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment is an advanced form of hands-on care that uses the hands to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness and injury. Drs. Gemme and Sibella will move your muscles and joints using techniques that may incorporate stretching, gentle pressure and resistance. OMT can help ease pain, promote healing and increase mobility. Often it is used to treat patients who suffer from muscle pain and back pain, but it can also help patients with other health problems, such as:

  • asthma
  • sinus disorders
  • carpal tunnel syndrome
  • migraines
  • menstrual pain

About our physicians

Drs. Gemme and Sibella are both doctors of osteopathic medicine (D.O). Osteopathic physicians receive extra training in the musculoskeletal system, which is your body's interconnected system of nerves, muscles and bones. This training provides osteopathic physicians with a better understanding of the ways that an illness or injury in one part of your body can affect another.
