To help care for our patients who are admitted to the hospital, NSPG offers dedicated "hospitalists" at North Shore Medical Center (NSMC). Hospitalists are physicians who specialize in the care of hospitalized patients and are trained in internal medicine, family medicine, critical care medicine and pulmonary diseases. Our hospitalist program at NSMC is made up of dedicated board-certified physicians and nurse practitioners who will manage your care should you be admitted to either NSMC Salem Hospital or NSMC Union Hospital. With the hospitalist program in place, you may not see your primary care physician while you are in the hospital, but rest assured that the hospitalist is in communication with him or her and your other physicians regularly throughout your stay.
